However, it is doubtful that the cardiologist, or anyone, would gather "a thorough understanding" of modern cardiological investigations from this monograph which dismisses many important techniques with catalogue-like brevity. On the contrary, the usefulness of the book would seem to lie in the area of the non-cardiologist who wants an intelligent introduction to the terminology and general scope of cardiovascular studies without a detailed and critical treatise on each of the many methods in use. Although some of the investigations described will quickly become obsolete, the book should be a valuable addition to any general medical library.
